The Secretary General of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party, Saad Katatni, called on Egypt’s Islamic powers to unify for upcoming parliamentary elections.

Katatni appreciated the code of ethics issued by activists from the different Islamic trends and published on social networking site Facebook. The code urges Egypt’s Islamists to cooperate during upcoming parliamentary elections to frustrate the plans of those who try to drive a wedge between the people.

Katatni called on all political powers to put the state's interests above any other interest, confirming the necessity of the democratic experiment’s success to set a model for all Arab revolutions.
