Tunisia blogger gets 6 months for defaming army

Local blogger Yassie Ayari has been jailed for six months by a Tunisia military appeals court for defaming the army. The sentence is halved, but critics were still angry at the decision. Ayari was prosecuted over blogs he had written alleging financial abuses by army officers and defence ministry officials in a case Human Rights Watch described as "not worthy of the new Tunisia".
