Violence in Libya takes the lives of hundreds of civilians

Months of fighting between the Libyan Dawn and officially recognized Libyan government has taken the lives of hundreds of civilians. The conflict has driven more than 120,000 people from their homes causing an enormous humanitarian crisis. UN High Commissioner issued a statement saying “As a commander of an armed group, you are criminally liable under international law if you commit or order the commission of grave human rights abuses or fail to take reasonable and necessary measures to prevent or punish their commission”.
