Muhammad Saalih Al-Munajjid was the first person to launch a website representing Islam in Saudi Arabia. The site was launched in 1997 and included the now popular Q&A format. Studying Islamic law under the scholar 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Baaz in his twenties, al-Munajjid became authorized to teach and give lectures in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
