Dr. Ding is an Associate Professor in School of Philosophy and Sociology at Lanzhou University where he is also the Director of the Institute of Islamic Culture Studies and the Editor- in- Chief of Islamic Cultural Studies.

He holds a Ph.D. from the International Islamic University in Islamabad Pakistan and has translated numerous works from Arabic and English into Chinese .  

His recent works include The Science of Hadith (Religious Culture Press, Beijing, 2007) and Islamic Culture, vol. I-4 (Gansu Peoples Press, Gansu, 2010).
