OnIslam.net is an independent launched in August 2010 under the umbrella of Mada Media Development Association, an Egyptian non-profit institution.

The two editorially-independent editions of OnIslam.net, in English and in Arabic, cover Islam as a religion for all aspects of life, and Muslims as international citizens.

According to the site, OnIslam.net "ascribe[s] to the values of Islam as a comprehensive value system that has many things in common with values held by the wider human society."
